HMG contains two key reproductive hormones: Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH), which drives ovarian follicle growth in women and sperm production in men, and Luteinizing Hormone (LH), which triggers ovulation in women and testosterone production in men. It is primarily used to induce ovulation in women undergoing assisted reproductive technologies such as IVF and IUI, particularly for patients with conditions like PCOS or unexplained infertility.

Mecanismo de acción

HMG mimics the natural effects of FSH and LH, normally produced by the anterior pituitary gland under GnRH regulation from the hypothalamus. FSH stimulates follicle growth and maturation, while LH is crucial for triggering ovulation. HMG also modulates the pituitary LH response to GnRH, preventing premature estrogen-mediated positive feedback of LH secretion during stimulation cycles.

Ovarian Stimulation for IVF/IUI — Induces development of multiple follicles in the ovaries, significantly increasing chances of successful ovulation and fertilization. Particularly beneficial for women with irregular or absent ovulation cycles.

Male Fertility Support — Stimulates the testes to produce more testosterone and sperm, making it a valuable option for treating male infertility and hypogonadotropic hypogonadism.

Synergy with HCG — Works in combination with HCG (which triggers final egg maturation and release) to create comprehensive fertility treatment protocols with improved pregnancy outcomes.
